Middlesex School seeks an Associate Director of Admissions for the 2026-2027 School year. Reporting to the Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid, the new hire will join a highly collaborative Admissions team that aspires to enroll a diverse and talented student body. The position includes extensive interviewing, travel, and applicant assessment as part of the Admissions Committee, and other projects as assigned. The typical Associate Director of Admissions interviews between 150-175 applicants a year, travels in and out of state for roughly three weeks, reads 400 applications a year; and manages or assists with a variety of office tasks and projects. Saturdays are required when school is in session, and there are occasional required Admissions Office or School evening events. Strong communication skills, analytical ability, and technical expertise are necessary. Prior school admissions and/or financial aid experience, and familiarity with CRMs such as Vercaross, is preferred but not required. As a residential school, Middlesex considers the work of faculty more broadly. When we are at our best, we are engaging with our students both in and out of the classroom. Applicants should be deeply committed to embracing and supporting the diversity of our student body. Faculty members at Middlesex can expect to be responsible for weekly evening and occasional weekend supervisory duties. They will also be responsible for contributing to the life of the school through athletics (one season) and extracurricular activities. Middlesex supports faculty in this work through clear expectations, thoughtful scheduling, and a collaborative culture that values mentorship and professional growth. Competitive salary and benefits, including a strong professional development program, will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Because Middlesex School is a residential boarding school, this role will be housed on campus or be eligible for a $20,000 engagement stipend for those not housed on campus.
Middlesex School is committed to bringing together a diverse faculty, staff, and student body. We encourage candidates who represent the broad, diverse community to which we aspire. Middlesex School is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to an inclusive school experience for all. | |
